She props herself up on an elbow, staring at me. "Don't you want…" From the way she trails off, it's clear she's nervous.

"Not yet, gorgeous. There's plenty of time."

Her perfect lips smile, fighting the sadness in her eyes. "You're only here until Saturday afternoon, right?"

Oh my God. Does my sweet girl not realize that this is much more than physical?

Cursing myself silently for not being clearer, I sit up, wrapping her in a blanket as I cradle her against me. "Maya, I'm thinking beyond this week. I have real feelings for you."

She's even prettier when a bit of pink touches the high points of her cheeks. "You can't say that after just a few days. I'm not that interesting."

"To me, you're fascinating." My thumb brushes a few inky tendrils of her hair away from that perfect cheekbone, then my fingertips trail along the silky soft side of her neck. "Every single thing about you makes me need to know more. I want to spend all the time in the world with you. I want to⁠—"

Her phone beeps from the bedside table. She scrambles to get it, and her face falls. "Rosa needs an extra pair of hands in the kitchen. Sorry."

Maya scrambles to get dressed, and I use the time to admire the trio of freckles on her hip as well as the graceful curve of her waist.

"I'll go first," she says quietly, listening at the door. "Wait a couple of minutes before sneaking out, okay?"

"Whatever you like. I promise you it won't be a huge deal."

She bites her bottom lip, sending blood rushing to my cock again. I need this beautiful girl physically, but I also want to take care of her. Make all of her problems go away so that she never feels anxious like this again.

But telling her all this while she's worried feels like a bad idea.

I stand and give her a big squishy hug before she leaves, then look around her space. It's just a basic room with a single bed, dresser, desk, and a small ensuite bathroom. But Maya has brightened it with a long row of books across the dresser, a purple scarf draped around the edge of the mirror, and a fluffy powder blue pillow on the bed.

Perusing the row of paperbacks, I smile at the wide variety. We're going to have so many incredible conversations about books throughout the years. I'll build a few more giant bookshelves at my house, with a special place for us to leave books for each other to read so that we can discuss them later.
